Coffee with a goose.

I’m not scared anymore. I went out for a stroll today to grab a coffee, and what do you think I saw? A goose of course. Wouldn’t you know it, a WOODEN goose rolled along the sidewalk right next to me. She said hello, and so did I. She looked really familiar. Maybe I’ve seen her on television?

Another encounter.

I was out for a drive on the 401 searching for turkey vultures and I saw another one of the geese. It flew by quickly but I’m sure it must be related to the others I’ve been observing. I managed to take this photo before she flew away.

Acceptance.

I’ve now entered into a new phase: acceptance. These geese are now a part of my life. I’m just going to admit it. So today, instead of ignoring their existence, I went in search of them and boy did I get lucky! The guys at Ornithology Club still don’t believe me, but wait until they see what I was able to document. These photos are undeniable proof.

The geese are alive.

I’m in such shock that I don’t know how to even begin this post. My day of innocent web surfing turned into yet another encounter with the geese. I found them. Not in the sky or in the park this time, but on the Internet. It appears as though they have infiltrated the webosphere. Out of control. Click here to see what I’m talking about. Taking a break.

I am back home now and have decided not to venture outdoors. This is a very difficult task for me considering that birding is my life and birds live outdoors. But I think my sanity is more important. On today’s schedule: catching up on my e-mail and doing some online shopping for binoculars.
